Here, the figure of the mother becomes a reflection of the self—of how a person gradually cultivates and fills themselves with beauty until it begins to grow outward and becomes visible to others.

The flowers represent the fruits of this inner work. The ant held in the figure’s hands symbolises labour, perseverance, and the value of the journey already travelled. She holds it with care, acknowledging the experience she has gained—the knowledge, mistakes, and lessons that have brought her to the present moment.

Is about recognising the value of one’s own work, accepting everything that has been lived through, and seeing beauty in the place one has reached.

MOTHER

Mother, Beginning marks the beginning of Pavel’s independent artistic practice. Created in 2019, during a period of uncertainty, anxiety, and inner instability, the work reflects the moment when art became a source of psychological protection, guidance, and emotional support.

The mother is presented not as a portrait of the artist’s own parent, but as a symbol of warmth, trust, and unconditional safety—an inner strength he was learning to cultivate within himself. Her dress resembles armour, forming a protective outer layer, while her calm, confident posture embodies the stability he was searching for.

The figures beside her represent different stages of human life, connecting childhood and adulthood within a single continuous cycle.

As Pavel’s first defining work, Mother, Beginning introduced the themes of protection, memory, childhood, and inner transformation that would later develop into Children of Flower and continue to shape his artistic language.

DANCER

The title is connected to a childhood dream of ballet, which for me has always remained something deeply attractive. There is also irony in the image: childhood is a desire for freedom and play, but it often collides with boundaries and expectations. This work combines a personal memory with a visual metaphor.

BALLERINA

This piece is about childhood memories — summers at my great-grandmother’s village, where there was a beehive.
Once a bee stung me on the forehead, and the small scar it left feels like a seal — rooting my deep love for nature.
